Prepare the Coffee Mixture

Brew the Espresso
Brew 1 cup of strong espresso coffee and let it cool to room temperature.

Mix with Liqueur
If using, combine the cooled espresso with the coffee liqueur in a shallow dish.
Make the Mascarpone Filling

Whip the Cream
In a mixing bowl, whip the heavy cream with the granulated sugar and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form.

Fold in the Whipped Cream
Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until fully combined.
Assemble the Tiramisu

Dip the Ladyfingers
Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the coffee mixture, ensuring they are soaked but not soggy.

Layer the Ingredients
In a 9x13 inch dish, layer half of the soaked ladyfingers on the bottom. Spread half of the mascarpone filling over them.

Repeat Layers
Add another layer of soaked ladyfingers, followed by the remaining mascarpone filling on top.
Chill and Serve

Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.

Dust with Cocoa
Before serving, dust the top of the tiramisu with cocoa powder using a fine sieve.
