Method

Prepare the Coffee Mixture

  1. 1

    Brew the Espresso

Brew 1 cup of strong espresso coffee and let it cool to room temperature.

  2. 2

    Mix with Liqueur

If using, combine the cooled espresso with the coffee liqueur in a shallow dish.

Make the Mascarpone Filling

  1. 3

    Whip the Cream

In a mixing bowl, whip the heavy cream with the granulated sugar and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form.

  2. 4

    Combine Egg Yolks and Mascarpone

In another bowl, whisk the egg yolks until pale, then fold in the mascarpone cheese until smooth.

  3. 5

    Fold in the Whipped Cream

Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until fully combined.

Assemble the Tiramisu

  1. 6

    Dip the Ladyfingers

Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the coffee mixture, ensuring they are soaked but not soggy.

  2. 7

    Layer the Ingredients

In a 9x13 inch dish, layer half of the soaked ladyfingers on the bottom. Spread half of the mascarpone filling over them.

  3. 8

    Repeat Layers

Add another layer of soaked ladyfingers, followed by the remaining mascarpone filling on top.

Chill and Serve

  1. 9

    Chill

Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.

  2. 10

    Dust with Cocoa

Before serving, dust the top of the tiramisu with cocoa powder using a fine sieve.

  3. 11

    Serve

Slice into squares and serve chilled. Enjoy your delicious tiramisu!
