Method

Pasta Preparation

  1. 1

    Cook the Pasta

In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the rotini pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually about 8-10 minutes. Drain and set aside.

Sauce Preparation

  1. 2

    Sauté Garlic and Chili Flakes

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and red chili flakes. Sauté for about 1-2 minutes until the garlic is fragrant, being careful not to burn it.

  2. 3

    Add Mushrooms

Add the sliced mushrooms to the skillet and cook for about 5 minutes until they are soft and browned.

  3. 4

    Prepare the Sauce

Pour in the canned diced tomatoes, stir well, and let the mixture simmer for about 10 minutes. Add salt and black pepper to taste.

  4. 5

    Add Fresh Basil

Once the sauce has thickened slightly, stir in the chopped fresh basil and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.

Combine and Serve

  1. 6

    Mix Pasta and Sauce

Add the drained rotini pasta to the skillet with the arrabbiata sauce. Toss well to combine, ensuring the pasta is thoroughly coated with the sauce.

  2. 7

    Serve

Plate the pasta and garnish with grated Parmesan cheese and fresh basil leaves. Serve immediately.
