Cooking the Pasta

In a large pot, bring about 4 quarts of water to a rolling boil.

Once the water is boiling, add 1 tablespoon of salt to the water.

Add 12 ounces of penne pasta to the boiling water. Cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually about 10-12 minutes.

Once cooked, drain the penne pasta using a colander and set aside.
Making the Alfredo Sauce

In a large skillet over medium heat, melt 1 cup of unsalted butter.
