Method

Prepare the Fries

  1. 1

    Cut the Potatoes

Wash and peel the russet potatoes. Cut them into thin strips (about 1/4 inch thick) to form fries.

  2. 2

    Season the Fries

In a large bowl, toss the cut potatoes with olive oil, salt, black pepper, and paprika until evenly coated.

  3. 3

    Bake the Fries

Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). Spread the seasoned fries in a single layer on a baking sheet. Bake for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden and crispy.

Prepare the Toppings

  1. 4

    Cook the Vegetables

In a skillet over medium heat, add a splash of olive oil. Sauté the diced onions and sweet bell peppers for about 3-4 minutes until soft. Add the sliced mushrooms and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes until they are tender.

  2. 5

    Heat the Plant-Based Beef

In the same skillet, add the plant-based beef crumbles to the cooked vegetables. Stir and cook for about 5 minutes until heated through.

  3. 6

    Melt the Cheese

Lower the heat and sprinkle the white American cheese over the beef and vegetable mixture. Cover the skillet with a lid for 2-3 minutes until the cheese is melted.

Assemble the Dish

  1. 7

    Combine and Serve

Once the fries are done baking, remove them from the oven. Top the fries with the beef and cheese mixture. Garnish with chopped parsley and hot sauce if desired.
