Method

Dough Preparation

  1. 1

    Mix the Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, instant yeast, sugar, and salt. Whisk together until well mixed.

  2. 2

    Add Wet Ingredients

Make a well in the center of the dry ingredients and add the warm water and olive oil. Stir with a wooden spoon until a rough dough forms.

  3. 3

    Knead the Dough

Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.

  4. 4

    Let the Dough Rise

Place the kneaded dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.

Shaping and Baking

  1. 5

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

  2. 6

    Shape the Dough

Once the dough has risen, punch it down and turn it out onto a floured surface. Divide the dough into 16 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a rope about 6-8 inches long and tie it into a knot.

  3. 7

    Place on Baking Sheet

Arrange the knots on a greased baking sheet, leaving space between each knot. Cover with a kitchen towel and let them rise for another 20-30 minutes.

  4. 8

    Bake the Knots

After the second rise, bake the knots in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.

Garlic Butter Application

  1. 9

    Prepare Garlic Butter

In a small saucepan, melt the unsalted butter over low heat. Add the minced garlic, chopped parsley, salt, and black pepper. Stir well and cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.

  2. 10

    Brush on Baked Knots

Once the garlic knots are baked and golden, remove them from the oven and immediately brush them with the garlic butter mixture, ensuring they are well coated.

  3. 11

    Serve Warm

Serve the garlic knots warm, garnished with additional parsley if desired.
