Method
Bread Preparation
- 1
Activate the Yeast
In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy.
- 2
Mix the Dough
In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Make a well in the center and add the frothy yeast mixture and olive oil. Stir until a dough forms.
- 3
Knead the Dough
Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- 4
First Rise
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- 5
Shape the Bread
After the dough has risen, punch it down and shape it into a loaf or divide it into smaller portions for individual rolls.
- 6
Second Rise
Place shaped dough on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Cover and let it rise again for about 30 minutes.
- 7
Bake the Bread
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake the bread for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown and hollow sounding when tapped.
Garlic Butter Preparation
- 8
Prepare the Garlic Butter
In a bowl, mix softened unsalted butter, minced garlic, chopped parsley, salt, and black pepper until well combined.
- 9
- 10
Final Bake
Return the topped bread to the oven for an additional 5-10 minutes until the butter is melted and the bread is slightly crispy.
