Beef and Sandwich Components

Method

Preparation of Beef and Sandwich

  1. 1

    Cook the Wagyu Beef

Preheat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Season the American Wagyu Beef with black pepper and a pinch of salt. Sear the beef for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until it reaches your desired doneness. Remove from heat and let it rest for 5 minutes.

  2. 2

    Slice the Beef

Once rested, thinly slice the Wagyu beef against the grain into bite-sized pieces.

  3. 3

    Prepare the Baguette

While the beef is resting, slice the French baguette horizontally, creating a pocket for the beef. Lightly toast the baguette halves on the grill or in an oven until golden brown.

  4. 4

    Assemble the Sandwich

Spread 2 tablespoons of mayo on each half of the baguette. Layer the sliced Wagyu beef on the bottom half of the baguette and top with Swiss cheese. Place the other half of the baguette on top.

Prepare the Au Jus

  1. 5

    Sauté Onions and Garlic

In a saucepan over medium heat, add a splash of oil and sauté the thinly sliced onion until translucent. Add minced garlic and sauté for another minute until fragrant.

  2. 6

    Add Broth and Seasonings

Pour in the beef broth and Worcestershire sauce. Bring to a simmer and let it cook for about 10-15 minutes to blend the flavors. Season with salt to taste.

  3. 7

    Serve

Slice the assembled sandwich in half and serve hot with a small bowl of au jus for dipping.
