Method

Steak

  1. 1

    Prepare the steak

Take the ribeye steaks out of the refrigerator and let them sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes before cooking.

  2. 2

    Season the steak

Rub both sides of the steaks with olive oil, then season generously with garlic powder, salt, black pepper, and fresh rosemary if using.

  3. 3

    Grill the steak

Preheat your grill to high heat. Once hot, place the steaks on the grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until your desired doneness. Use a meat thermometer for precision (130°F for medium-rare).

  4. 4

    Rest the steak

Remove the steaks from the grill and let them rest for at least 5 minutes before slicing.

French Fries

  1. 5

    Prepare the potatoes

Peel the russet potatoes and cut them into thin strips, about 1/4 inch thick.

  2. 6

    Soak the potatoes

Soak the cut fries in cold water for at least 30 minutes to remove excess starch, which helps them become crispier when fried.

  3. 7

    Heat the oil

In a large pot or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).

  4. 8

    Fry the potatoes

Drain the soaked potatoes and pat them dry with a clean towel. Carefully add them to the hot oil in batches, frying for about 5-7 minutes until golden brown and crispy. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.

  5. 9

    Season the fries

While the fries are still hot, sprinkle them with salt to taste.
