Garlic Mashed Potatoes

Method

Steak Preparation

  1. 1

    Season the Steak

Sprinkle salt and black pepper on both sides of the ribeye steak. Let it sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes to ensure even cooking.

  2. 2

    Sear the Steak

Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the steak to the pan and sear for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, adjusting the time for your desired doneness.

  3. 3

    Add Garlic

During the last minute of cooking, add crushed garlic cloves to the pan and baste the steak with the garlicky oil for added flavor.

  4. 4

    Rest the Steak

Remove the steak from the skillet and let it rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing. This allows the juices to redistribute.

Garlic Mashed Potatoes Preparation

  1. 5

    Prepare the Potatoes

Peel and chop the large potatoes into quarters. Place them in a pot of salted water and bring to a boil.

  2. 6

    Boil the Potatoes

Cook the potatoes until fork-tender, about 15-20 minutes. Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot.

  3. 7

    Mash the Potatoes

Add butter, milk, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper to the drained potatoes. Use a potato masher or fork to mash until smooth and creamy.

  4. 8

    Serve

Scoop the garlic mashed potatoes onto a plate and serve alongside the ribeye steak.
