Oysters and Toppings
Method
Preparation and Cooking
- 1
Prepare the Bacon Thyme Butter
In a skillet over medium heat, cook the smoked bacon until crispy. Remove the bacon and crumble it into small pieces. In the same skillet, add the butter and minced garlic, cooking until the garlic is fragrant but not browned. Stir in the crumbled bacon, thyme leaves, lemon juice, salt, and black pepper. Mix well and set aside.
- 2
Prepare the Oysters
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Rinse the oysters under cold water to remove any grit. Place them on a baking sheet, cup-side up.
- 3
Add Toppings and Bake
Spoon a generous amount of the bacon thyme butter over each oyster, then sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese. Bake the oysters in the preheated oven for about 10-12 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
- 4
Serve
Remove from the oven and let cool for a minute. Serve warm, garnished with additional fresh thyme if desired.
