Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Potatoes

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Wash the Russet potatoes thoroughly and dry them. Prick each potato several times with a fork, then rub them with olive oil and sprinkle with salt.

  2. 2

    Bake the Potatoes

Place the potatoes directly on the oven rack or on a baking sheet. Bake for about 45-60 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender and easily pierced with a fork.

  3. 3

    Prepare the Toppings

While the potatoes are baking, prepare your toppings. Chop the green onions and set aside. Grate the cheddar cheese if not already shredded.

  4. 4

    Load the Potatoes

Once the potatoes are done, remove them from the oven and let them cool slightly. Cut each potato in half lengthwise and fluff the insides with a fork. Add a tablespoon of butter to each half, then top with shredded cheddar cheese, sour cream, bacon bits, and green onions.

  5. 5

    Serve

Serve the loaded baked potatoes warm, and enjoy!
