Preparation Steps

  1. 1

    Prepare the Crust

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Place the pre-made pie crust in a 9-inch pie dish and prick the bottom with a fork. Pre-bake the crust for 10 minutes.

  2. 2

    Cook the Bacon

In a skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon until crispy. Remove from the skillet, chop into small pieces, and set aside, leaving some bacon fat in the skillet.

  3. 3

    Sauté the Onion

In the same skillet, add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.

  4. 4

    Prepare the Filling

In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, heavy cream, salt, black pepper, and nutmeg until well combined.

  5. 5

    Assemble the Quiche

Spread the chopped bacon, sautéed onion, and gruyère cheese evenly over the pre-baked crust. Pour the egg mixture over the top.

  6. 6

    Bake

Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the filling is set and the top is golden brown.

  7. 7

    Cool and Serve

Remove the quiche from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before slicing. Serve warm or at room temperature.
