Instructions
- 1
Prepare the Pot de Crème
In a medium saucepan, combine the whole milk, heavy cream, and chopped milk chocolate over medium heat. Stir until the chocolate has completely melted and the mixture is smooth.
- 2
Mix the Egg Yolks
In a separate bowl, whisk together the egg yolks, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt until well combined.
- 3
Combine Mixtures
Slowly pour the warm chocolate mixture into the egg yolk mixture, whisking constantly to prevent the eggs from scrambling.
- 4
Bake the Custard
Pour the mixture into individual ramekins. Place the ramekins in a baking dish and fill the dish with hot water until it reaches halfway up the sides of the ramekins. Bake in a preheated oven at 325°F (160°C) for about 30-35 minutes, or until the custard is set but still slightly jiggly in the center.
- 5
Cool the Custard
Once baked, remove the ramekins from the water bath and let them cool to room temperature. Then refrigerate for at least 2 hours or until chilled.
- 6
Prepare the Crème Chantilly
In a mixing bowl, whip the heavy whipping cream with powdered sugar and vanilla extract until soft peaks form.
