Cooking Instructions
- 1
Prepare the Haricots Verts
Trim the ends of the haricots verts and rinse them under cold water.
- 2
Blanch the Beans
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the haricots verts and cook for 3-4 minutes until bright green and tender-crisp. Drain and immediately transfer to an ice bath to stop the cooking process. Drain again and set aside.
- 3
Sauté the Garlic
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant but not browned.
- 4
Combine and Season
Add the blanched haricots verts to the skillet, season with salt, black pepper, lemon zest, and lemon juice. Toss to combine and heat through for about 2-3 minutes.
- 5
Add the Almonds
Stir in the slivered almonds and cook for an additional minute to toast them slightly.
- 6
Serve
Transfer the haricots verts to a serving platter and serve warm.
