Preparing the Croutons
Cut the Bread
Cut the bread slices into bite-sized cubes.
Bake the Croutons
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Spread the coated bread cubes on a baking sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
Making the Dressing
Mince the Garlic
Mince the garlic clove finely.
Combine Ingredients
In a bowl, whisk together the minced garlic, anchovy paste, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, and lemon juice.
Add Olive Oil
Slowly drizzle in the olive oil while whisking continuously to emulsify the dressing.
Season
Season the dressing with salt and black pepper to taste.
Assembling the Salad
Prepare the Romaine
Wash and dry the romaine lettuce. Chop it into bite-sized pieces and place it in a large salad bowl.
Add Dressing
Pour the prepared dressing over the romaine lettuce and toss gently to coat the leaves evenly.
Add Cheese and Croutons
Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese and the baked croutons over the salad.
Final Toss
Toss the salad one last time to ensure everything is mixed well.
