Method
Preparing the Pork
Season the Pork
Rub the pork shoulder with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika until evenly coated.
Cook the Pork
Place the seasoned pork shoulder in a slow cooker. Cook on low for 8-10 hours or until the meat is tender and easily pulls apart.
Shred the Pork
Once cooked, remove the pork from the slow cooker and shred it using two forks. Set aside.
Making the BBQ Sauce
Combine Ingredients
In a medium saucepan, combine ketchup, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper.
Simmer Sauce
Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat. Cook for about 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally until thickened.
Assembling the Sandwich
Prepare Buns
Lightly toast the burger buns if desired.
Add Pulled Pork
Spoon generous amounts of the BBQ pulled pork onto the bottom half of each bun.
Top with Coleslaw
Add a scoop of coleslaw on top of the pulled pork.
Finish Sandwich
Place the top half of the bun on the coleslaw and serve immediately.
