Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking pan.

  2. 2

    Melt the Butter

In a small saucepan, melt the stick of unsalted butter over low heat. Once melted, set aside to cool slightly.

Mixing Ingredients

  1. 3

    Combine Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg until well combined.

  2. 4

    Mix Wet Ingredients

In another bowl, whisk together the milk, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract until smooth.

  3. 5

    Combine Mixtures

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Stir gently until just combined, being careful not to overmix.

  4. 6

    Add Chocolate Chips

Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the batter.

Baking

  1. 7

    Pour and Bake

Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it out evenly. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

  2. 8

    Cool Down

Once baked, remove from the oven and allow to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Serving

  1. 9

    Serve with Toppings

Cut the baked treat into squares and serve warm, optionally dusted with powdered sugar, topped with fresh berries, and a dollop of whipped cream.
