Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Ingredients
Gather all ingredients and tools needed for the cocktail. This includes a cocktail shaker, jigger, muddler, strainer, and highball glass.
- 2
Muddle the Mint
In the cocktail shaker, gently muddle 6 fresh mint leaves to release their oils. Do not over-muddle; you want to break the leaves without tearing them apart.
Mixing
- 3
Combine the Base Ingredients
Add 2 oz of blanco tequila, 1 oz of dry vermouth, and 0.5 oz of apple liqueur to the shaker with the muddled mint.
- 4
Add Flavorings
Include 1 tsp of tamarind paste, and 0.5 oz of fresh lemon juice to the cocktail shaker. Add 2 dashes of eucalyptus bitters.
- 5
Shake it Up
Fill the shaker with ice and shake vigorously for about 15-20 seconds to chill and combine the ingredients well.
Serving
- 6
Strain and Serve
Strain the cocktail mixture into a highball glass filled with ice.
- 7
Top with Soda
Pour 3 oz of soda water over the cocktail to top it off. Stir gently to combine.
- 8
Garnish
Garnish with a sprig of fresh mint and serve immediately with a straw or cocktail stirrer.
