Flan Ingredients

Method

Flan Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Caramel

In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt the granulated sugar until it turns into a golden-brown caramel. Carefully pour it into a round flan mold, swirling to coat the bottom evenly. Set aside to cool and harden.

  2. 2

    Make the Custard

In a blender, combine the eggs, sweetened condensed milk, evaporated milk, and vanilla extract. Blend until smooth and well combined.

  3. 3

    Bake the Flan

Pour the custard mixture over the hardened caramel in the flan mold. Place the mold in a larger baking dish and fill the dish with hot water until it reaches halfway up the sides of the flan mold. Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 50-60 minutes, or until a knife inserted into the center comes out clean.

  4. 4

    Cool and Serve

Remove the flan from the oven and let it cool to room temperature. Once cooled, refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight. To serve, run a knife around the edges of the flan, then invert onto a serving plate. The caramel will drizzle over the top.
