Prepare the Potatoes
Peel the Russet potatoes and cut them into equal-sized chunks.

Boil the Potatoes
Place the potato chunks in a large pot and cover with cold water. Add salt and bring to a boil. Cook until potatoes are tender, about 15-20 minutes.

Drain and Dry
Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot. Allow them to sit for a few minutes to evaporate excess moisture.

Mash the Potatoes
Using a potato masher or ricer, mash the potatoes until smooth.

Mix in Butter and Cream
Add the unsalted butter and heavy cream to the mashed potatoes. Stir until well combined and creamy.

Season with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder to taste. Mix well.
