Add the Meat
Stir in the ground beef and pork, cooking until browned. Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.

Add Tomatoes and Broth
Add the crushed tomatoes, beef broth, bay leaf, oregano, and thyme. Stir well to combine.

Slow Cook the Ragu
Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer, then reduce the heat to low. Cover and let it cook for at least 1.5 to 2 hours, stirring occasionally. Adjust seasoning with salt and black pepper.

Cook the Fettuccine
About 15 minutes before the ragu is done, cook the fettuccine according to package instructions in a large pot of salted boiling water. Drain and reserve a bit of pasta water.

Combine Pasta and Ragu
Add the drained fettuccine to the ragu and toss to combine, adding a little reserved pasta water if needed to reach desired consistency.

Serve
Plate the fettuccine and top with grated Grana Padano cheese. Serve immediately.
