Tzatziki Sauce

Method

Pita and Filling Preparation

1

Cook the Beef

In a skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef, breaking it apart with a spatula. Cook until browned and fully cooked, about 8-10 minutes. Drain excess fat.

2

Prepare the Vegetables

While the beef is cooking, wash and prepare the lettuce, dice the tomato, and thinly slice the red onion.

3

Warm the Pita

In a separate skillet or on a grill, lightly toast the pita bread on each side for about 1-2 minutes until warm.

4

Assemble the Gyros

In each warmed pita, add a generous spoonful of cooked beef, followed by a sprinkle of mixed cheese, lettuce, diced tomatoes, and red onions.

Tzatziki Sauce Preparation

5

Combine Ingredients

In a bowl, mix together the Greek yogurt, grated cucumber, minced garlic, olive oil, lemon juice, salt (to taste), and chopped dill. Stir until well combined.

6

Serve

Serve the tzatziki sauce alongside or drizzled over the assembled gyros.
