Marinated Meat

Method

Marinated Meat Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Marinade

In a large bowl, mix together olive oil, lemon juice, minced garlic, dried oregano, ground cumin, salt, and black pepper.

  2. 2

    Marinate the Meat

Add the pork, chicken, or lamb to the marinade, ensuring the meat is well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or overnight for best flavor.

Tzatziki Sauce Preparation

  1. 3

    Combine Ingredients

In a bowl, combine Greek yogurt, grated cucumber, minced garlic, olive oil, lemon juice, and chopped dill.

  2. 4

    Season the Tzatziki

Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Mix well and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to develop.

Cooking the Meat

  1. 5

    Cook the Meat

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Remove the meat from the marinade and grill or pan-fry until fully cooked, about 5-7 minutes per side for chicken or pork, and 8-10 minutes for lamb, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C) for chicken and pork or 145°F (63°C) for lamb.

Assembly and Serving

  1. 6

    Serve the Gyro Plate

Slice the cooked meat and serve it on a plate with warm pita bread, tzatziki sauce, and fresh vegetables. Enjoy your homemade gyro plate!
