1. Prepare the Seafood
Rinse clams and mussels under cold running water to remove any sand or debris. Discard any that are open and do not close when tapped.
2. Sauté Garlic
In a large pot, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1-2 minutes.
3. Add Wine and Sauce
Pour in the white wine and bring to a simmer. Cook for 2-3 minutes to let the alcohol evaporate. Stir in the marinara sauce and bring to a gentle simmer.
4. Cook Seafood
Add the clams and mussels to the pot. Cover and cook for 5-7 minutes, or until the shells have opened. Discard any that remain closed.
5. Season and Serve
Season the guazzetto with salt and black pepper to taste. Stir in the chopped fresh parsley and serve hot with crusty bread.
