Tea Base

Sweetened Milk Mixture

Method

Tea Base

1

Boil Water

In a small saucepan, bring 2 cups of water to a boil over medium-high heat.

2

Steep Tea

Once the water is boiling, add 4 tablespoons of Thai tea mix. Stir and reduce heat to low. Let the tea steep for 3–5 minutes, or until it reaches a deep orange color.

3

Strain Tea

Remove the saucepan from heat. Strain the tea using a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth into a heatproof container to remove tea leaves. Discard the leaves.

Sweetened Milk Mixture

4

Mix Sweeteners

While the tea is still warm, stir in 2 tablespoons of sweetened condensed milk, 2 tablespoons of evaporated milk, and 1 tablespoon of sugar. Mix until everything is dissolved and well combined.

5

Cool the Tea

Allow the sweetened tea to cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 20 minutes or until chilled.

To Serve

6

Prepare Glass

Fill a tall glass with 1 cup of ice cubes.

7

Pour Tea

Pour the chilled Thai milk tea over the ice until the glass is about 90% full.

8

Top with Milk

Drizzle 2 teaspoons of evaporated milk on top to create a creamy layer. Serve immediately with a straw or spoon for stirring.
