Main Ingredients

Method

Duck Preparation

  1. 1

    Score the Duck Breast

Using a sharp knife, score the skin of the duck breast in a crisscross pattern, being careful not to cut into the meat.

  2. 2

    Season the Duck

Season both sides of the duck breasts with salt and black pepper.

  3. 3

    Sear the Duck

In a pan, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Place the duck breasts skin-side down and sear for about 6-8 minutes until the skin is crispy. Flip and cook for an additional 4-5 minutes.

  4. 4

    Rest the Duck

Remove the duck breasts from the pan, cover with foil, and let them rest for 5 minutes.

Jazz Sauce Preparation

  1. 5

    Combine Sauce Ingredients

In a small bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, balsamic vinegar, minced garlic, and grated ginger until well combined.

  2. 6

    Heat the Sauce

In the same pan used for the duck, pour in the sauce and simmer for 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally until it thickens slightly.

Assembly

  1. 7

    Slice the Duck

Slice the rested duck breasts thinly against the grain.

  2. 8

    Plate and Garnish

Arrange the sliced duck on a plate, drizzle with the jazz sauce, and sprinkle with chopped cilantro and sesame seeds.
