Method

For the Stickers

1

Prepare the Dough

In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.

2

Mix Dry Ingredients

In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt.

3

Combine Mixtures

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until a soft dough forms. Do not overmix.

4

Chill the Dough

Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour or until firm.

5

Roll and Cut

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). On a floured surface, roll out the chilled dough to about 1/4 inch thick. Use cookie cutters to cut out desired shapes for your stickers.

6

Bake

Place the cut-out shapes on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden. Allow to cool completely.

7

Prepare Royal Icing

In a mixing bowl, prepare the royal icing according to the package instructions or your favorite recipe.

8

Add Color

Divide the icing into separate bowls if coloring different sections. Add food coloring to each bowl, mixing until the desired color is achieved.

9

Decorate the Stickers

Using piping bags or a spatula, decorate the cooled cookie shapes with royal icing. Add edible glitter for a sparkling finish.

10

Let Dry

Allow the decorated stickers to dry completely at room temperature, ideally overnight, to ensure the icing hardens properly.
