For Cooking

Method

Prepare the Filling

  1. 1

    Mix Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine the ground pork, finely chopped cabbage, grated carrot, chopped green onions, minced garlic, grated ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.

Assemble the Gyoza

  1. 2

    Fill Wrappers

Take a gyoza wrapper and place about 1 tablespoon of the filling in the center. Moisten the edges of the wrapper with a little water. Fold the wrapper in half to create a half-moon shape and pinch the edges to seal tightly. You can also create pleats for a decorative touch. Repeat with remaining wrappers and filling.

Cook the Gyoza

  1. 3

    Pan-Fry

Heat vegetable oil in a large non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, place the gyoza in the skillet, making sure they are not touching each other. Cook for about 2-3 minutes or until the bottoms are golden brown.

  2. 4

    Steam

Carefully add water to the skillet (it will steam and sizzle). Cover the skillet with a lid immediately and let the gyoza steam for about 5-6 minutes or until the water has evaporated.

  3. 5

    Finish Cooking

Remove the lid and let the gyoza cook for another 1-2 minutes to ensure the bottoms are crispy again. Remove from the skillet and serve hot.
