Method
Preparation
Make the Dough
In a large bowl, combine warm milk and sugar. Sprinkle yeast on top and let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy. Add melted butter, eggs, salt, and flour gradually, mixing until a smooth dough forms. Knead for about 5-7 minutes until elastic. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1-2 hours until doubled in size.
Prepare the Filling
In a bowl, mix brown sugar and ground cinnamon. Melt the butter for spreading on the dough.
Roll Out the Dough
Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out on a floured surface into a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick.
Roll and Slice
Starting from one edge, roll the dough tightly into a log. Slice into 12 equal pieces and place in a greased baking dish.
Second Rise
Cover the baking dish with a towel and let the rolls rise for another 30-45 minutes.
Bake
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the rolls for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
Make the Icing
While the rolls are baking, beat together cream cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and milk until smooth and creamy.
Serve
Once the rolls are baked, let them cool slightly before drizzling the icing over the top. Enjoy your homemade cinnamon buns!
