Preparation Steps

  1. 1

    Prepare the Brisket

In a mixing bowl, combine ancho chili powder, brown sugar, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper. Rub this spice mixture all over the brisket.

  2. 2

    Cook the Brisket

Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add diced onion and minced garlic, sautéing until translucent. Add the brisket and sear on all sides until browned. Cover and cook on low heat for about 2-3 hours, or until the brisket is tender.

  3. 3

    Shred the Brisket

Once cooked, remove the brisket from the pan and let it rest for a few minutes. Then, using two forks, shred the brisket into bite-sized pieces.

  4. 4

    Assemble the Tacos

Warm the flour tortillas in a skillet or microwave. Place a generous amount of the shredded brisket on each tortilla and top with cornbread crumbles.

  5. 5

    Serve

Serve the tacos warm, optionally with your favorite salsa or hot sauce.
