Churros

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Make the Churro Dough

In a medium saucepan, combine water, butter, sugar, and salt. Bring to a boil over medium heat. Once boiling, remove from heat, and stir in flour until dough forms. Let it cool slightly.

  2. 2

    Add Eggs

Beat in eggs one at a time until the mixture is smooth and thick.

  3. 3

    Heat the Oil

In a large pot or deep fryer, heat vegetable oil to 375°F (190°C).

  4. 4

    Fry the Churros

Transfer the dough to a piping bag fitted with a large star tip. Pipe 4-6 inch strips of dough into the hot oil, cutting them with scissors. Fry until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.

  5. 5

    Coat with Cinnamon Sugar

Remove churros from oil and drain on paper towels. In a bowl, mix sugar and cinnamon. Roll the warm churros in the cinnamon sugar until well coated.

  6. 6

    Serve with Salted Caramel

Serve churros warm with a side of salted caramel sauce for dipping.
