Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Marinate the Carne Asada

In a bowl, combine the carne asada with olive oil, salt, and black pepper. Let it marinate for at least 30 minutes to infuse flavors.

  2. 2

    Cook the Carne Asada

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the marinated carne asada for about 5-7 minutes on each side or until it reaches the desired doneness. Remove from heat and let it rest before slicing into thin strips.

  3. 3

    Prepare Cream Cheese Mixture

In a separate bowl, soften the cream cheese and mix in half of the shredded cheddar jack cheese. This will be your creamy filling for the taquitos.

Assembly & Cooking

  1. 4

    Assemble the Taquitos

Take a flour tortilla and spread a layer of the cream cheese mixture on it. Add some sliced carne asada on top, followed by a spoonful of pico de gallo. Roll the tortilla tightly to form a taquito, securing the filling inside.

  2. 5

    Fry the Taquitos

In a deep skillet, heat oil over medium heat. Once hot, carefully add the rolled taquitos, seam side down. Fry until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes on each side. Remove and drain on paper towels.

  3. 6

    Serve

Serve the taquitos hot with remaining shredded cheddar jack cheese on top and drizzled with green sauce. Enjoy!
