Prepare the Apple
Core and thinly slice the Braeburn apple. Set aside.

Prepare the Cheese
Grate or slice the Hufford raw milk white cheddar cheese. Set aside.

Prepare the Butter
Soften the unsalted butter by leaving it at room temperature for about 15 minutes.
Assembly

Assemble the Sandwich
Spread onion jam on one side of each slice of brioche bread. On the unjammed side, layer the sliced apples and then the cheddar cheese.

Close the Sandwich
Top with another slice of brioche bread, with the jam side facing down.

Butter the Bread
Spread softened butter generously on the outside of each sandwich.

Cook the Sandwich
Place the sandwich in the heated pan and cook for about 3-4 minutes per side, or until the bread is golden brown and the cheese has melted.

Check for Doneness
Remove the sandwich from the pan and let it cool for a minute before slicing in half.
