Method

Biscuits

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).

  2. 2

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt until well combined.

  3. 3

    Cut in Butter

Add the cold unsalted butter to the flour mixture. Use a pastry cutter or your fingers to cut the butter into the flour until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

  4. 4

    Add Buttermilk

Pour in the buttermilk and stir gently with a fork until the dough comes together. Be careful not to overmix.

  5. 5

    Shape the Dough

Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface. Pat it into a rectangle about 1-inch thick. Fold the dough over itself three times to create layers.

  6. 6

    Cut Biscuits

Using a biscuit cutter or a glass, cut out round biscuits. Do not twist the cutter; simply press down and lift.

  7. 7

    Bake the Biscuits

Place the biscuits on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.

Honey Butter

  1. 8

    Make Honey Butter

In a small bowl, combine the unsalted butter and honey. Mix until smooth and creamy. Add the sea salt and mix until well incorporated.

  2. 9

    Serve

Serve the warm biscuits with the honey butter spread on top. Optionally, offer jam on the side for an extra charge.
