Method
Cooking the Pasta

Boil Water
In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil.

Cook Spaghetti
Add the spaghetti to the boiling water and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
Making the Bolognese Sauce

Sauté Vegetables
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion, carrot, and celery. Sauté for about 5 minutes until softened.

Add Garlic
Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute until fragrant.

Brown the Meat
Increase the heat to medium-high and add the ground beef. Cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon, about 8-10 minutes.

Add Tomatoes and Wine
Stir in the crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, red wine, oregano, salt, and black pepper. Bring to a simmer.

Simmer the Sauce
Reduce heat to low and let the sauce simmer for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Finish the Sauce
Stir in the chopped basil just before serving.
Serving

Combine and Serve
Toss the cooked spaghetti with the Bolognese sauce. Serve topped with grated Parmesan cheese.
