Cook the Meat

Brown the Ground Beef
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and cook, breaking it apart with a spoon, until browned (about 5-7 minutes). Drain excess fat.

Stir in ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, brown sugar, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until combined.

Simmer the Mixture
Reduce the heat to low and let the mixture simmer for about 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until thickened.
Toast the Buns

Prepare the Buns
While the mixture is simmering, preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Place the hamburger buns on a baking sheet and toast them in the oven for 5-7 minutes until golden brown.
Assemble

Serve the Sloppy Joes
Remove the buns from the oven. Spoon the sloppy joe mixture onto the bottom half of each bun. Top with the other half and serve immediately.
