Method
Grilling the Chicken
- 1
Prepare the Chicken
In a bowl, combine olive oil, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix well. Add the chicken breasts to the bowl and coat them evenly with the marinade. Let them marinate for at least 30 minutes.
- 2
Preheat the Grill
Preheat your grill to medium-high heat (about 375°F or 190°C).
- 3
Grill the Chicken
Once the grill is hot, place the marinated chicken breasts on the grill. Cook for 6-7 minutes on each side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
- 4
Rest the Chicken
Remove the chicken from the grill and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
Assembling the Sandwich
- 5
Prepare the Vegetables
While the chicken is resting, wash and slice the tomato and cucumber. Tear the lettuce into smaller pieces.
- 6
Spread Mayonnaise
Take two slices of whole grain bread and spread 1 tablespoon of mayonnaise on each slice.
- 7
Layer the Ingredients
On one slice of bread, add a layer of lettuce, followed by the sliced tomato and cucumber, and then the grilled chicken. Place a slice of cheddar cheese on top.
- 8
Finish the Sandwich
Top with the second slice of bread (mayonnaise side down) and press gently to secure. Repeat with the remaining ingredients for the second sandwich.
