Duck Poppers

Dipping Sauce

Method

Duck Poppers Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Duck

Trim excess fat from the duck breasts and slice them into small bite-sized pieces.

  2. 2

    Mix the Filling

In a mixing bowl, combine the chopped duck pieces, cream cheese, finely chopped jalapeño (remove seeds for less heat), salt, black pepper, and smoked paprika. Mix until well combined.

  3. 3

    Wrap with Bacon

Take a small portion of the mixture and form it into a ball. Wrap a bacon strip around each ball, securing it with a toothpick if necessary. Repeat until all the mixture is used.

  4. 4

    Coat with Panko

Roll each bacon-wrapped popper in panko breadcrumbs until fully coated.

Dipping Sauce Preparation

  1. 5

    Mix the Sauce

In a small bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, honey, apple cider vinegar, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper until smooth. Adjust seasoning to taste.

Cooking

  1. 6

    Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

  2. 7

    Bake the Duck Poppers

Place the bacon-wrapped poppers on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the bacon is crispy and the duck is cooked through.

  3. 8

    Serve

Remove the poppers from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes. Serve warm with the dipping sauce.
