Method

Cooking Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Fish

In a bowl, mix flour, cornstarch, baking powder, salt, and black pepper. Gradually add cold water until you achieve a smooth batter. Dip the fish fillets into the batter.

  2. 2

    Fry the Fish

In a large pan, heat the oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, carefully add the battered fish fillets and fry until golden brown and cooked through, about 3-4 minutes per side. Remove and drain on a paper towel.

  3. 3

    Sauté the Vegetables

In another pan, sauté the diced onion, jalapeño, and tomatoes over medium heat until soft, about 5-7 minutes.

  4. 4

    Warm the Tortillas

In a dry skillet, warm the corn tortillas for about 30 seconds on each side until pliable.

  5. 5

    Assemble the Tacos

Place some sautéed vegetables on each tortilla, add a piece of fried fish, top with shredded cabbage and chopped cilantro. Drizzle with salsa and green chile tartar sauce.

  6. 6

    Serve

Serve the tacos with a side of pinto beans and rice.
