1. Cook the Spaghetti
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain the spaghetti.
2. Prepare the Sauce
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute, until fragrant but not browned.
3. Combine Ingredients
Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet with the garlic oil. Toss to combine. Add fresh basil, butter, and Parmesan cheese. Mix well, adding reserved pasta water as needed to achieve desired consistency.
4. Season and Serve
Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Serve immediately, garnished with extra Parmesan and basil if desired.
