Method

Chips

  1. 1

    Prepare the Corn Tortillas

Cut the corn tortillas into triangles or desired chip shape.

  2. 2

    Heat the Oil

In a large skillet or deep frying pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  3. 3

    Fry the Chips

Carefully add a few tortilla triangles to the hot oil, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for about 2-3 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.

  4. 4

    Drain and Season

Use a slotted spoon to remove the chips from the oil and place them on paper towels to drain excess oil. Sprinkle with salt while still warm.

Salsa

  1. 5

    Prepare the Ingredients

Chop the tomatoes, onion, and jalapeño pepper into small pieces. Remove seeds from the jalapeño if you prefer less heat.

  2. 6

    Mix the Salsa

In a mixing bowl, combine the chopped tomatoes, onion, jalapeño, and cilantro. Add lime juice and salt, then mix well.

  3. 7

    Taste and Adjust

Taste the salsa and adjust salt or lime juice according to your preference.

  4. 8

    Chill and Serve

Let the salsa sit for at least 15 minutes to allow the flavors to meld. Serve with the freshly made chips.
