Main Ingredients

Method

Preparation of Ingredients

  1. 1

    Prepare the Shrimp

In a pot of boiling salted water, cook the peeled and deveined shrimp for about 2-3 minutes, or until they turn pink and opaque. Drain and set aside to cool.

  2. 2

    Slice the Vegetables

While the shrimp is cooling, thinly slice the purple onion and peel and slice the cucumber. Dice the avocados and set all the vegetables aside.

Making the Serrano-Lime Sauce

  1. 3

    Blend the Sauce

In a blender or food processor, combine the chopped serrano peppers, fresh lime juice, salt, and black pepper. Blend until smooth and adjust seasoning to taste.

Combining Everything

  1. 4

    Mix the Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooled shrimp, diced avocado, sliced purple onion, and cucumber. Pour the serrano-lime sauce over the mixture and gently toss to coat all ingredients.

  2. 5

    Chill and Serve

Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld. Serve chilled and enjoy!
