Cooking Oil

Method

Chicken Marinade

  1. 1

    Prepare the Marinade

In a large bowl, combine the buttermilk, hot sauce, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.

  2. 2

    Marinate the Chicken

Add the chicken breasts to the buttermilk mixture, ensuring they are fully submerged. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour or overnight for best results.

Breading

  1. 3

    Prepare the Breading

In a separate bowl, mix the all-purpose flour, cornstarch, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper.

  2. 4

    Bread the Chicken

Remove the chicken from the marinade, allowing excess to drip off. Dredge each piece in the flour mixture, ensuring an even coating. Shake off any excess flour.

Frying the Chicken

  1. 5

    Heat the Oil

In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  2. 6

    Fry the Chicken

Carefully place the breaded chicken into the hot oil, frying in batches if necessary. Cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side or until golden brown and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).

  3. 7

    Drain the Chicken

Once cooked, transfer the chicken to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.

Sandwich Assembly

  1. 8

    Prepare the Rolls

Slice the Brioche rolls in half and lightly toast them if desired.

  2. 9

    Assemble the Sandwich

On the bottom half of each roll, spread a generous amount of sweet & tangy sauce. Top with a piece of fried chicken, followed by lettuce, tomato slices, and pickle slices. Cap with the top half of the roll.
