Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Cook the Pasta

Boil a large pot of salted water and add the fettuccine pasta. Cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually about 8-10 minutes. Drain and set aside, reserving 1 cup of pasta water.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Steak

While the pasta is cooking, season the sirloin steak with salt and black pepper on both sides. Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

  3. 3

    Sear the Steak

Once the skillet is hot, add the steak and sear for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness is reached. Remove steak from the skillet and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing thinly against the grain.

  4. 4

    Sauté Garlic

In the same skillet, add the remaining 2 tablespoons of olive oil and 2 tablespoons of butter. Add minced garlic cloves (finely chopped) and sauté for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to burn the garlic.

  5. 5

    Combine Pasta and Sauce

Add the cooked fettuccine to the skillet with the garlic. Toss to coat the pasta in the garlic butter mixture. If the pasta seems dry, add reserved pasta water a little at a time until desired consistency is achieved.

  6. 6

    Finish the Dish

Add sliced steak to the pasta, along with grated Parmesan cheese and chopped fresh parsley. Toss everything together until well mixed. Adjust seasoning with more salt and pepper if needed.

  7. 7

    Serve

Serve the garlic steak pasta hot, garnished with additional Parmesan cheese and parsley if desired.
