Brownie Batter
Method
Preparation
- 1
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
- 2
Melt the Butter
In a medium saucepan, melt 1 cup of unsalted butter over low heat. Remove it from heat and let it cool slightly.
- 3
Mix Sugars and Eggs
In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted butter, 1.5 cups of granulated sugar, and 0.5 cup of brown sugar. Mix until well combined. Add 3 large eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in 1 tsp of vanilla extract.
- 4
Combine Dry Ingredients
In a separate bowl, whisk together 1 cup of all-purpose flour, 0.5 cup of unsweetened cocoa powder, 0.5 tsp of baking powder, and 0.25 tsp of salt.
- 5
Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined. Do not overmix.
- 6
Add Chocolate Chips
Fold in 1 cup of dark chocolate chips into the batter until evenly distributed.
- 7
Add Nutella Swirl
Spoon half of the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan. Drop spoonfuls of 0.5 cup of Nutella over the batter, then top with the remaining brownie batter. Use a knife to gently swirl the Nutella into the brownie batter.
- 8
Bake the Brownies
Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs. Be careful not to overbake.
- 9
Cool and Serve
Allow the brownies to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely. Cut into squares and serve.
