Prepare Meatball Mixture
In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, minced garlic, chopped parsley, salt, black pepper, and grated Parmesan cheese. Mix until well combined.

Form Meatballs
Using your hands, form the mixture into meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Bake Meatballs
Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F). Bake the meatballs in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until they are cooked through and golden brown.

Add Tomatoes and Seasoning
Stir in the canned crushed tomatoes, chopped basil, salt, black pepper, and sugar. Bring to a simmer.

Simmer Sauce
Reduce the heat to low and let the sauce simmer for about 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Combine Meatballs and Sauce
Once the meatballs are cooked, add them to the sauce and let them simmer together for an additional 5 minutes.
