Method

Dip Directions

  1. 1

    Cook the Onions

In a large skillet over medium heat, melt a tablespoon of butter. Add the finely chopped yellow onions and cook, stirring occasionally, until they're soft and caramelized, about 15-20 minutes. Remove from heat and allow to cool slightly.

  2. 2

    Mix the Dip

In a mixing bowl, combine the cream cheese, sour cream, mayonnaise, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix until smooth and well combined.

  3. 3

    Incorporate the Onions

Add the cooled caramelized onions and chopped chives to the cream cheese mixture. Stir until everything is evenly incorporated.

  4. 4

    Chill the Dip

Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour to let the flavors meld together.

Crostini Directions

  1. 5

    Prepare the Baguette

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Slice the baguette into 1/2-inch thick slices.

  2. 6

    Brush with Olive Oil

Arrange the baguette slices on a baking sheet. Brush each slice lightly with olive oil on both sides.

  3. 7

    Toast the Crostini

Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and toast for about 5-7 minutes or until the crostini are golden brown. Keep an eye on them to prevent burning.

  4. 8

    Add Garlic Flavor

Remove the toasted crostini from the oven and gently rub each slice with the cut side of the garlic clove for added flavor.
