Method
Meatballs
Prepare the Meatball Mixture
In a large bowl, combine ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, parmesan cheese, minced garlic, egg, chopped parsley, salt, and black pepper. Mix until just combined.
Form the Meatballs
Using your hands, form the mixture into 1-inch meatballs and place them on a baking sheet.
Bake the Meatballs
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake the meatballs for 20-25 minutes or until they are cooked through and golden brown.
Pesto Aioli
Mix the Aioli
In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, pesto, and lemon juice until smooth. Set aside.
Assembly
Assemble the Sliders
Slice the focaccia bread in half to create a top and bottom for each slider. Place a meatball on the bottom half, add a slice of provolone cheese, spoon over marinara sauce, and spread a layer of pesto aioli on the top half of the focaccia.
Serve
Close the sliders and serve immediately, or place them under the broiler for a few minutes to melt the cheese before serving.
