Old Fashioned Recipe

Preparation

   Prepare the Glass

   Select a lowball or rocks glass and set it aside.

   Combine Ingredients

   In the glass, add 1 teaspoon of sucanat and 2 dashes of bitters. Use a muddler or the back of a spoon to gently mix the sucanat and bitters together until the sucanat is mostly dissolved.

   Add Whiskey

   Pour 2 ounces of whiskey into the glass over the bitters and sucanat mixture.

   Add Ice

   Add 3 ice cubes to the glass. Stir gently to combine the ingredients without diluting the drink too much.

   Garnish

   Twist a piece of orange peel over the drink to release its oils, then drop it into the glass as a garnish.
