Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Glass

Start by chilling an old-fashioned glass. You can do this by filling it with ice water and letting it sit while you prepare the drink.

  2. 2

    Mix the Ingredients

In a mixing glass, add the demarara sugar and the dashes of OBO' cherry bitters. Use a muddler or the back of a spoon to gently muddle them together until the sugar is dissolved.

  3. 3

    Add the Bourbon

Pour the bourbon into the mixing glass with the muddled sugar and bitters mixture.

  4. 4

    Add Ice

Add ice cubes to the mixing glass. Stir the mixture gently for about 20-30 seconds until well chilled.

  5. 5

    Strain and Serve

Remove the ice water from the chilled old-fashioned glass. Strain the mixed drink into the glass over fresh ice cubes.

  6. 6

    Garnish

Express the oils from an orange peel over the drink by holding it over the glass and giving it a twist. Optionally, drop the peel into the drink for garnish.
